![]() It will be live and you can ask any questions to our CTO, Miguel Calvo. We’re hosting a free tech demo on February 7. Reliable bed tilt compensation (no more thumbscrews) 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi A 1080p camera (mounted higher for a better view) Compatibility with 280+ Marketplace materials Compatibility with S5 project files (no reslicing needed) And a whole lot more The UltiMaker S7 also includes quality of life improvements: We also reversed the front fan direction (fewer plastic hairs, less maintenance), made the print core door magnets stronger, and add a sensor that helps avoid flooding. This effectively makes it much harder to not achieve a perfect first layer, improving overall print success. The re-engineered print head has an inductive sensor which reduces noise when probing the build plate. ![]() Along with that, 4 pins and 25 magnets make it easy to replace the flex plate perfectly – even with one hand. But we also don’t recommend using or adhesion structures for UltiMaker materials (except PC, ’s PC). Not only do you not need tools to pop a printed part off. A PEI-coated flexible steel build plate makes a big difference to productivity. The build stack has also been completely redesigned. To further enclose the build chamber the S7 only has one magnetically latched door. This filters the exhaust air of every print and also improves build temperature stability. It now includes an integrated Air Manager. The UltiMaker S7 is built on the success of the UltiMaker S5 and its design decisions were heavily based on feedback from customers. Letting those older operating systems go in abandon for even a beta of Cura that is meant to natively support an M1 series chip is no different. High Sierra ( OS X 10.13) is years old, and does not have what it needs to fully run Cura versions that rely on OGL4. Current versions of Cura on M1 Macs have flaws just as the current versions running under Rosetta 2 have flaws. That excludes compatibility in older versions of the OS already. I am sure that the topic of OpenGL versions has been covered quite a bit. OS X 10.14 is only 2.5 year old.Ĭura was just as limited with Mac OS versions that could not run OpenGL 4. Updating to a version of Qt that is native to M1 (once that is available) means dropping support for all Macs that still run 10.11 - 10.14. Cura currently uses Qt 5.10, which supports OS X 10.11 and newer. Version 6.0 of that framework requires OS X 10.15 or newer. Native support for M1 is slated for Qt 6.1. But even then there is the problem that upgrading to newer versions of these dependencies mean that Cura will no longer work on older OS X versions. These are very bug projects, and it will take time before these run natively. This removes occasional scarring on models and improves top. Heres how:We’ve tweaked the Monotonic setting and made adjustments throughout print profiles. A GUI framework called Qt, a language called Python. Ultimaker Cura 4.12 is here We have improved our Ultimaker print profiles together with our material engineers, this will increase first-time-right results. Cura uses a lot of components that are not written or maintained by Ultimaker.
