Diamond Keys are an entirely new type of currency, as is the method of obtaining them. While the Diamond Armory would be a fun addition on its own, what makes it particularly interesting is the fact that this concept has never been seen in the Borderlands series before. After they loot each wall, players can also open the Diamond chest at the center for a guaranteed Legendary item that matches their level - meaning that Borderlands fans get four top-tier items per Diamond Key. A neat mechanic resembling the timed loot sections seen at the end of the Secret Armory of General Knoxx and Psycho Krieg and The Fantastic Fustercluck expansions, this fun little mini game should keep players on their toes. As such, they will have to rush through the looting process, picking up an item quickly so that they have time to get one of each possible reward. While this would hardly be a big deal if players had the luxury of time, an added mechanic sees gamers limited on how long they can spend in the room. While there are dozens of items to claim on these walls, players will not be able to take all of them.Īfter spending a Diamond Key, players will be able to take one item from each wall. Lastly, the right wall will hold weapons. On the left well, players will find shields, while the middle wall holds guns. Behind each shutter will be a wall full of some of the best loot in the game. Once activating the chest with a key, shutters will come down on the three sides of the room. The Diamond Armory can be found beneath Sanctuary 3’s bridge, and each time players want to open it, they will have to spend one of their coveted Diamond Keys.
